Mount Tyndall 7/3/04 After spending the night at Anvil Camp I packed up and headed for Shepherd Pass. Once at Shepherd Pass I located a camp site, set up my tent, and then headed for Mount Tyndall. I started up the aweful taylus on the NW slope but then switched to the crest of the NW ridge where I encountered pleasant class 3 climbing. Eventually I was forced to pass over increasingly difficult gendarmes. When difficulty began exceeding class 4 I dropped to one side of the ridge and then proceeded up to the junction with the West ridge. From there I decended to the right (West) below a gendarme and then contoured around and on up to the summit. On the descent I opted for the North Rib. The North Rib was mostly good rock and made for a relatively easy descent.
