12:26pm - Reached Junction with Nordhoff Rd
01:08pm - Reached Saddle - began hiking up ridge trail
01:32pm - Reached summit of Chief Peak
01:57pm - Left summit of Chief Peak
02:45pm - Returned to Nordhoff Rd junction
03:07pm - Returned to Campground

Time from CG to summit: 1 hr 58 mins (fairly aggressive pace)
Time on summit: 25 mins
Time from summit back to CG: 1 hr 10 mins (jogged down much of the way)
Total time: 3 hrs 33 mins

Driving

08:45am - Left White Lane & Wible
11:25am - Arrived at Rose Valley CG (via Santa Paula & Ojai)
03:40pm - Left Rose Valley CG (returned via Maricopa)
05:50pm - Returned home

Thus is took 2 hrs 40 mins to get there and
2 hrs 10 mins on the return (via a different route)

Notes

Parking areas at base of Santa Paula Cyn were packed - must
be a popular spot
Tule Creek - neat rock formations nearby
There's a climbing spot located at "Sespe Gorge Gauge 
Station" on the topo -- near Derrydale Creek)
Potroro Creek
Adobe Cyn - another climbing spot?  closed store/restaurant
Apache Cyn - what's up that road?  might be worth exploring
And what about Ballinger Cyn and Quatal Cyn?
