We skipped several short rappels in order to go bag Mount Spry. This rappel was our first "interesting one". I believe this is the 6th rappel (of 13) in our route description. Try as we might we couldn't see the bottom. It just looked like a deep, dark, bottomless pit. Wondering what was below, I dropped a rock into the pit that seemed to take forever to reach the bottom. A loud deep sounding splash echoed out of the pit and the three of us all groaned simultaneously. |
